WHAT IS SEO CONTENT WRITING?
Content is anything online that is designed to either inform or entertain. Unlike copywriting, content writing is not primarily used to sell, but to gain and retain interest, in your company, your brand, and your products or services.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. When you do a Google search, the results you see are based on many factors, one of which is the keywords used in your content. If you use the most in-demand keywords, your site will rank higher on search engines.

So, SEO content writing is writing that informs or entertains, and is optimised so that search engines can find it.

Simple, right?
* TYPES OF CONTENT - Content can come in many forms, but the most common are articles and blog posts. Most companies' websites will have news about developments with their products, services, or their industry in general. Sometimes there will be interviews with key players or thought leaders.
Smaller companies often cover a wide variety of subjects that might be only loosely related to their actual work.
All of this helps your existing customers stay informed and engaged, whilst also attracting new customers.
* USING SEO - New companies often find it difficult to get noticed -the internet is full, to say the least.
Paid adverts are one method of ranking high on google search, but for many, it is prohibitively expensive.
By analysing trends for strong keywords and then using
them in the title or body of a text, I can significantly improve
your chances of being noticed in the crowd.

SEO is not a one-size-fits-all process. Google and other search
engines are constantly changing their algorithms, and it is
important to stay on top of things.

* THE PROCESS - Content writing usually involves four distinct steps.

And that's it. Phew. You'll get a well-researched, fully-prepared, optimised-for-search-engine piece of high-quality writing. (That's a lot of hyphens.)

Want to see what I can do? You can see a load of my content writing in the blog section here.
First, there is research, which may involve interviews, discussions, catching up on news, or reading technical documentation. This gives me a good overview of what you need and why. It is also here that SEO keyword research happens, so I know what to include to make it easy to find.
Secondly, there is planning the article or post. What do you want? What is the focus? How much information needs to be said? How technical or basic? It needs to strike the right balance. And what tone should the writing be? Is it professional, humorous, casual, or formal?
Thirdly, once the plan is in place, the writing begins. This is often the quickest part of the whole process, but it is the most important — I make sure that the right information is presented in the right way for you and your message.

And lastly, that all-important polishing, editing the text to remove unnecessary fluff, crafting the sentences to be as engaging and readable as possible, and at the very, very end, the final proofread, focusing on spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format.
